So is anyone else out there on Vine? I've found that a lot of people I follow on other platforms used it a lot at first, but, with the exception of a handful, quit using it after a few months. I love it though! I've wanted to get into capturing things on video for a long time now so this is perfect. Plus it's a new way for me to shove how much I love my dog into people's faces. SCORE.

Hair Tutorial: Knotted Ponytail

AfterAllison found this hair tutorial on Pinterest she really wanted to give it a try! And guys, let me tell you, I've been wanting to put up some hair tutorials with Allison since MARCH. She's like, the awesome hair queen.

Basically all you have to do is use a curling iron to set in some curls all the way around your head. Use a brush and hairspray to tease your hair at the crown, then use your fingers to kind of tousle the curls and make them look a little messier and more natural. Divide your hair into three section and put the middle one in a ponytail. Take the side sections, criss-cross them above your ponytail and tie into a single knot. Bobby pin the loose ends under the ponytail and give another good hairspray! You can add some fun details like the hair comb from the first picture, the flower pins from the original tutorial or THESE GUYS that I found on Pinterest last night.

So, it might be at random when she's on here with some good hair lovin' show-how, but at least we've got Allison on here today! I'm so lucky to have a sister who helps with my blog (she takes a lot of my outfit photos too)!!

That's right yall!! I'm so excited to finally have a shop up and open. I'm not gonna lie, today's been exhausting (but like, the good kind). So I've only got about 75% of my items listed. More will be up in the morning : )

Hey guys! Hope yall had a great Valentine's day. I helped some friends deliver flowers and ate tacos and played cards and watched Maddy devour her love bear from Matthew. All in all, a pretty good day!

Great news: the shop will be open no later than Friday of this week!! I'm sooooo so excited. I'm wearing one of the necklaces that I'll be selling in this outfit post. What do ya think? My sweet little sister was kind enough to take pictures of me for the post. She's the bees knees : )

DIY: easy silhouettes on kraft paper

So I've been away from my laptop for about 5 days now and I. feel. CRAZY. I did just fine without service on my cell phone and with having a bonfire as my only heat source (brewing coffee over a fire is FUN, just saying). But I feel a special little connection with my laptop.. I like this little world I've surrounded myself with on blogger. I found myself wondering what different girls were posting about or doing over the weekend.

Anywho. I'm back from camping and getting into the swing of things with electrical appliances and actual beds. And now I'm here to show you a reaaaally simple decor DIY that can add a little touch of personality to your sweet abode. 

 

My little sister made the deer one and I made the one with the three heads. Once I get everything up on my bedroom walls I'll show you what it looks like in an actual room!

 First off you'll need to grab a few things (most of which you'll probably having lying around!). Any sized frame, double-sided tape, a pair of scissors, an image of anything you want (we printed ours off the computer but try using a picture you took or something that you drew yourself!), fancy paper, and kraft paper that's at least the size of your picture frame.

1. Tape your image to the back side of your pretty paper with a couple of strips of double-sided tape. 2. Carefully cut the image out. 3. Take the glass out of your frame then use it as a guide to cut your kraft paper. 4. Put a couple of strips of your tape on the back of your image, then... 5. Stick it on your kraft paper. Just stick your kraft paper into your frame and you're good to go!

Like I said: super simple. I'll have another incredibly easy DIY up later this week (it involves toy deer and sparkly things!). 

DIY: tea tin planters

APPARENTLY I'm craving some spring time in my life because I had to get some succulents and some awesome Martha Stewart stencils this past weekend (Pause. GushRantTime: can I be Martha Stewart one day? Please??! I swear Elsie over at A Beautiful Mess is working towards it and I think I want that to be my dream too! And I'm only kidding a little).

Anyway. Me and my baby sister did some crafts this past weekend and these lovely tea tin planters are a byproduct of it. Read on to see how to do it yourself!

First off. Grab any kind of container you can (we used some old tea tins from the coffee shop I work at). Grab any color spraypaint you want (we used some spraypaint from some old projects of mine--I have a problem with spraypainting picture frames. Oh my). Let the spraypaint dry then grab some acrylic paint (it dries amazingly fast) and your stencils (it would be really cool to make your own!) and stencil your spraypainted container up! Me and baby sister talked about layering stencil designs on top of each other, but didn't do it because apparently you have limited amount of sunshine during the winter months. If you choose to do that though, try using a lighter color for your background images and go darker/bolder in shades as you build up your image. Once your acrylic paint has dried, fill your planters with soil (we used moisture control soil...its AWESOME) and drop your little babies (aka plants) in and pack the soil around them. VOILA!
